Fall Bass
Fall Bass fishing in Maine can be the best time of year to catch a trophy sized fish!
Our Bass, both Smallmouth and Largemouth, are now transitioning into their fall patterns. They feed heavily in the fall in preparation for the long Maine winter ahead. September-November is a fantastic time to catch quality bass on Maine’s Lakes, Rivers, and Ponds.
Fast moving baits such as spinnerbaits and crankbaits are very effective in the fall. Fish them over flats and weedbeds and you will be sure to tangle with many nice fish. I like to use bright colored baits resembling yellow perch in the fall. Fire-tiger and Chartreuse/Gold combinations work well.
You will likely have the lake all to yourself in the fall. Many tourists have returned home and sportsmen are now focusing on Maine’s hunting season. I say you should do both: Hunt on Saturday and fish on Sunday! Be sure to check the Maine fishing regulations before you head out.
We will continue to offer our guided bass fishing trips throughout the fall. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information regarding our services. Good luck bass fishing this fall and please be sure to don your PFD when you are on the water!
